A unique horror, the Puppeteer isn't feared for its physical prowess or its ability to terrify or torment Namegivers. No. It works and weaves terror by giving Namegivers what they want - strength and power - and the seductive twisting of desires to abhorrent purpose. Puppeteer takes the form of a small, elderly Namegiver; withered and worn, often with some physical deformity. It is found carving wood in isolated locations where it can be chanced upon by solitary travellers or small groups. The Puppeteer will entice Namegivers to tell it their desires or needs and, should it find an appropriate opening, will hint that it can help the desires be realized... somehow. Puppeteer will then grant a boon: an enchanted puppet that, properly manipulated, can grant the Namegiver great strength and power. Those that say yes are bound to the Puppeteer and the puppets given will slowly corrupt and drive the wielder to greater and greater depravity over time.

  • Craft Puppet (Ritual vs. Other): 22: 1d20+1d10+1d8: Craft a Puppet as a horror construct with a base TN of 10. A puppet starts with Step 9 in Dex, Str and Constitution. Each additional success on a Craft Puppet Test improves a single statistic, defence or armour by 2. Each test takes a week of crafting and costs 1 Karma.

  • Harvest Energy (Free vs. SocialDefense): 22: 1d20+1d10+1d8: When a Puppet created by the Puppeteer inspires a negative emotion in a Namegiver, the Puppeteer gains one Karma per success on a Harvest Energy test agains the victim’s Social Defense. If the harvested emotion is fear or pain, the horror gains an additional point of Karma, and gains a point even if the test is a failure.
